he Economic Impacts of Climate Change Study for Colombia (EIECC) is a long-term research agenda coordinated by the National Planning Department (DNP) that aims to conduct economic analyses on the implications of climate change in the country.
The study integrates data and knowledge from different areas of study and economic sectors to analyze the regional and sectoral impacts of climate change, and to provide recommendations on optimal measures to reduce these impacts or harness the opportunities arising from climate change.
Additionally, the EIECC conducts analyses on optimal measures to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and their implications for economic development. The study’s results have contributed to technical and policy discussions in Colombia, highlighting the importance of implementing public policies to address climate change.
