Commission results
The Study Commission for the Promotion and Development of Carbon Markets in Colombia -CEMCO2- was created by the Congress of the Republic through Article 20 of Law 2169 of 2023, with the purpose of generating recommendations to the national government regarding the regulation of such markets and the reorganization of the organizational structure of the Colombian State required to promote the development of these markets as an effective tool to reduce greenhouse gas emissions under parameters of transparency, reliability, credibility, quality, environmental integrity and additionality.
